Our Mission
Birthright Israel Foundation of Canada raises funds in Canada to support all Birthright Israel programs.
It is our mission to build and expand financial support to ensure that the Birthright Israel Classic ten-day experience, as well as other programs like the Excel Business Internship and Onward Internships and Volunteer experiences, will be available to more and more Canadian Jewish young adults today and for years to come. It is our goal to ensure the gift of Birthright Israel continues to strengthen Jewish continuity and provide even more young Jewish adults with a strong and lasting connection to Israel.
Our Vision
Birthright Israel began with a bold idea — offer the gift of a life-changing trip to Israel to Jewish young adults between the ages of 18 and 26 — and, in doing so, transform the Jewish future.
Founded in 1999 by a remarkable group of committed Jewish philanthropists led by Charles Bronfman and Michael Steinhardt, Birthright Israel aims to strengthen Jewish identity, build a lasting bond with the land and people of Israel, and reinforce the solidarity of Jewish people worldwide.
Our vision is to see more community members become stakeholders by supporting this transformational gift so that anyone who is eligible can participate.
